What Is Body Contouring?

Body Contouring or Body Sculpting is a treatment program that will help the patient decrease the size of certain body areas, usually referred to as their ‘problem areas’.

Our clients will often achieve their goal weight and size trough various eating programs, however so many of them are left with one or two small stubborn fatty areas.  These areas are often smaller isolated pockets of fat and generally everyone has them.  Body Contouring helps to remove those stubborn fatty areas to helps patients achieve their desired shape.

This is now possible with the use of Ceccarelli.

What Is Ceccarelli?

At Aurora Medical Aesthetics Centre, we use a formula called Ceccarelli to dissolve unwanted pockets of fat.

Ceccarelli was brought to South Africa by Dr Johan Botha.  Dr Botha trained in Italy under Professor Maurizio Ceccarelli, a Regenerative and Physiological scientist.  This groundbreaking solution contains a combination of Vitamin C, iron and lignocaine.

How Does Ceccarelli Work?

The Ceccarelli solution is injected into localised fatty deposits,   Vitamin C is employed as a pro-oxidant; ascorbic acid acts as a reducing agent when mixed with iron, and Fenton’s metabolism is initiated. A mixture rich in hydroxyl type radicals is generated. These radicals signal the initiation of apoptosis (cell death) in fat cells, which causes an activation of the calcium channels on the cell membrane, resulting in an influx of calcium.  The increased levels of intracellular calcium results in the release of Cytochrome C, which eventually causes cell death of the fat cell.

Is Ceccarelli Safe?

Yes Ceccarelli is safe to use. The Ceccarelli protocol employs a physiological process naturally occurring in the body, resulting in minimal post procedural swelling and inflammation or tenderness. The hydroxyl radicals that are generated act only on fat cells; the low concentration of Vitamin C does not harm skin or muscle.

However, as with any other medical treatment, there are always possible risks and side effects.  It is necessary for your doctor to explain these possible risks and side effects to you in full before your treatment.

How Long Is Each Treatment?

Depending on the size of the area to be treatment, the procedure can take as little as 15 minutes.

How Many Treatments Are needed?

This usually depends on the size of the area to be treated and may vary from person to person.  Patients usually only need 3 to 4 treatments spaced 2 - 4 weeks apart.

Is There Any Downtime?

The injections usually cause some bruising, which may take up to 2 weeks to fully heal
