INJECTABLE FILLER

What Are Injectable Fillers?

Fillers are a non-surgical sculpting agent to model cheekbones and lips.  It is used to improve volume, to contour facial features and to smooth passive lines and wrinkles.

Are Injectable Fillers Safe To Use?

Yes Fillers safe to use.  Fillers are Hyaluronic Acid based products.  Hyaluronic Acid is a naturally occuring substance found in human tissue and is therefore totally bio-compatible and therefore carries almost no risk of allergies.

However, as with any other medical treatment, there are always possible risks and side effects.  It is necessary for your doctor to explain these possible risks and side effects to you in full before your treatment.

How Do Injectable Fillers Work?

Filler is injected into areas of facial tissue where wrinkle and folds occur.  The role of Hyaluronic Acid in the skin is to deliver nutrients, hydrate the skin by holding in water and act as a cushioning agent.  The Hyaluronic Acid helps plump out the desired area causing a fuller, younger look.

What Areas Can Be Trated With Fillers?

Filler is typically used  in these areas:

  • Gives lips a fuller look and shape

  • Lifting droops at the corners of the lips

  • Lift and adding volume to cheeks

  • Smoothing out nasolabial folds

  • Smoothing marionette lines

How Soon Will I See Results?

The results from Fillers can be seen on the same day as treatment.  The result may improve further over the week following treatment.

Is There Any Down Time After Fillers?

There is no real down time after the procedure.  Possible side effects may include redness, swelling, bruising, lumps/bumps and pain/tenderness.  It is advised to always discuss the possible risks and sides effects with your doctor before your procedure.

How Long Is Each Procedure?

If you have already had a consultation with your doctor and discussed your treatment options, possible risks and side effects, each procedure may take 30 minutes to an hour depending on how much Filler you wish to be injected.

How Long Do Injectable Fillers Last?

Fillers can last up to 18 months, depending on the type Filler used. It is necessary to discuss with your doctor which Filler is being used and how long the Filler will last.

How Many Treatments Will I Need For Best Results?

Usually the results are achieved after only one treatment.  However in some situations, it may not be possible to achieve optimal results with a single treatment.  Follow up treatments may be necessary to improve the outcome.  It is necessary to wait 2 weeks before any follow up treatments.
